The sore Spot Checking After Complete Denture Delivery

Abstract
This study was performed to investigate the frequency of denture sore spots occurring in the primary stress bearing area and secondary stress bearing area which Dr. Pendleton had classified in accordance with the oral histology and physiology from the point of view of complete denture construction.
The denture sore spots were checked-carefully in the period from 1 to 7 days after the denture had been delivered.
The results of my experiment. on the frequency on the primary and secondary stress bearing areas with 32 edentulous patients are as follows;
1. The denture sore spots appear more frequently in the secondary stress bearing area than in the primary stress bearing area.
2. The denture sore spots appear more frequently in the lower complete denture than upper complete
denture not only in the primary stress bearing area but also in the secondary= stress bearing area.
3. The frequency of denture sore spots are less in the remade denture cases than in the new made denture cases.
4. In the single unit upper denture cases, the denture sore spots appear more frequently in the primary stress bearing area than in the secondary stress bearing area.
